Description
 Under direct supervision of the Client Device Support Manager/Supervisor , functions as secondary contact for the definition, coordination and resolution of basic-to-intermediate client problems, service and support requests for computer systems and applications. Secondary responsibility under the guidance of a Client Device Service Tech III or IV, to assist in projects involving relocations or system implementations, providing operational support, inclusive of installation, training, maintenance of information systems hardware and software. Basic Active Directory, SCCM/software distribution, and printing services apply. Provides inventory control and basic asset management.
Qualifications
 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A basic to intermediate level of educational development is required in order to support computer information systems and applications at a level or experience generally acquired through completion of high school or GED.
  • Some form of technical accreditation in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of increasingly more complex client device, systems and telecommunications support experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer systems problems at a level generally acquired through completion of a least 3-5 years of field service support experience in a business environment or related experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to technical and non technical audiences. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to communicate effectively with user departments when planning, defining and deploying applications and training end users.
  • Analytical skills necessary to diagnose intermediate computer hardware/device, workstation operating systems, office automation software and business problems and apply information system technology for effective resolution.
  • Ability to perform all operations of Microsoft Applicaitions including basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and create spreadsheets and Visio diagrams to complete project work and relocations.
  • Must be dependable in meeting commitments, handling change, being accountable and focused under pressure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in information technology customer service preferred.
  • Experience with key OSF applications/technology preferred​

Becky Cook-Kendall, Executive Director of the Rockford Health Council, has requested if there are any RVC students who would like practical experience assisting her with some activities at the Council, such as website design, website update, help with the Healthy Community Survey, quarterly newsletters, etc.
 
This is a small non-profit that does not have a lot of staff or resources, but who has a Board with a lot of connections in the community.  It may be great experience for a student who is looking to get practical experience in their field and get exposure.  A link to their website is here:  http://www.rockfordhealthcouncil.org/RHorg2013/

The individual in this internship role would be providing remote desktop support. This support could range from individual PC’s to servers. This role would also be conducting server monitoring and maintenance, and test, restore and back-up maintenance. Lastly, this position would be responsible for keeping clients updated on the progress on their open ticket.

Social media Intern Needed

Rosie's Birthday Club, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization serving children, has an unpaid social media internship opportunity available. The student intern would gain experience in public relations and marketing by promoting Rosie's Birthday Club events in the Rockford area using a variety of social media sites. The student will download pictures, develop messaging, and utilize apps for visual media.

Minimum qualifications: Student should be self directed, have good communication skills, be knowledgeable of social media, and like to have fun! Experience with MailChimp or Constant Contact is a plus.

Hours are flexible with approximately 10 -15 a hours per week anticipated. Academic credit(s) may be earned with this internship pending approval.

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required.
General Job Overview:
Provide technical support for all studio systems, digital automation systems, computer systems and live remote broadcasts, etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine studio equipment maintenance and repair, as well as configuration changes
Computer workstation installation, administration and troubleshooting, including virus eradication
Provide user support on computers and printers
Assist Technical Team on projects
Setup remote broadcasts and Live studio “Sound Lounge” broadcasts
Be on call on a rotating basis with other members of the technical team
Be able to work nights and weekends as needed
Qualifications:
Experience working with audio equipment and basic test equipment
Computer system support and installation experience
Clean driving record
Education and/or Experience:
Experience working in broadcast engineering desirable
Data wiring experience desired
Understanding of audio systems
Language Skills:
Good communication skills required
Be able to explain procedures in Non-Technical terms
Other Skills and Abilities:
Must have desire to learn all technical aspects of Radio Broadcasting
Strong mechanical skills required
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work well as a team player
Be familiar with electrical systems
Be able to read schematics and drawings
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work in tight spaces

Internship Description
The position starts out as an unpaid internship but can quickly turn into a paid position depending on performance. A minimum of 8 hours per week is required to be logged at the Merango offices. However, some work can be done at a home office after trust and good performance have been established.
