Around 100 RVC students, a dozen local companies and some RVC departments and services gathered in the Rock Valley College Student Atrium for the inaugural "TechExpo16". The event started off with four local companies sharing some of the technologies they use as well as what positions they hire. The speakers were David Knoup and Joe Canale from Ticomix, Sam Basile from TREKK, Jeff Jinkins from Rockford Park District and Mike Broski from Entre' Computers. The speakers kept the audience attention as they shared real world examples of how their company works and what types of positions they hire

After the speakers section of the event attendees had time to connect to the companies one on one. Companies that hosted a table and connected with students about job opportunities were: Ingersoll, Bisconti Computers, TREKK, Savant Capital Management, Ticomix, Gener8tor, Rockford Mutual, Entre' Computers, Rockford Park District, United Technologies, Transform Rockford, RVC Career Services, and RVC Engineering & Technology department.

The night ended with a drawing for 4 college credits, iPad mini, selfie sticks, and freshly 3D printed phone stands. The response from RVC students and companies was to make this a yearly, if not every semester event!

This event was hosted by the CIS Division!
